Installing Music Creator

Music Creator is easy to install. All you need to do is choose the folder where the program and sample project files should be stored. Before you start, make sure you have your serial number handy.

To install Music Creator

Note: If you choose to not install the Sample files, you will not have the necessary content to use the tutorials in Chapter 2.

Start your computer.

Close any open programs you have running.

Place the Music Creator installation disc in your disc drive.

If you have AutoRun enabled, the Music Creator AutoRun menu opens automatically, showing you a dialog box with several buttons. If AutoRun is not enabled, you can open the Music Creator AutoRun menu by selecting Start > Run and entering d:\AutoRun.exe (where d:\ is your disc drive).

Click the Install Music Creator button.

Note: If you exit Setup without completing the installation, choose Start > Run, type D:\AutoRun.exe (where D:\ is your DVD drive), and click OK. This will reopen the AutoRun window, and you can click Install to start installation again.

Follow the installation instructions on the screen.

You can also install Music Creator by choosing Start > Run and running the application named setup.exe from the DVD.

Uninstalling Music Creator

When you installed Music Creator, the setup program placed an Uninstall icon in the Start menu. To uninstall Music Creator, click the Start button and choose Programs > Cakewalk > Music Creator 6 Touch > Uninstall Music Creator 6 Touch.

	Note: If you choose to not install the Sample files, you will not have the necessary content to use the tutorials in Chapter 2.

	Note: If you exit Setup without completing the installation, choose Start > Run, type D:\AutoRun.exe (where D:\ is your DVD drive), and click OK. This will reopen the AutoRun window, and you can click Install to start installation again.

Tip - Searching Documentation

Tip: To search for a specific topic, type your search query in the Search Cakewalk.com field at the top right of this page.

When the search results appear, click which product's documentation you would like to search to filter the search results further.

Note - Using Offline Help

Note: If you prefer to always use offline Help, go to Edit > Preferences > File > Advanced in your Cakewalk software and select Always Use Offline Help.

If you are not connected to the internet, your Cakewalk software will default to showing offline help until an internet connection becomes available.
